The Arena Eventing Area Qualifier for 2023 Championships is to be held at Northallerton Equestrian Centre on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November 2022. BRC run Arena Eventing competitions for Junior and Senior competitors as follows:

AE 100, is a mixed class open to senior and junior teams and individuals,

Senior AE 90, for senior teams of four riders, or individuals.

Senior AE 80, for senior teams of four riders, or individuals.

AE 70, is a mixed class open to senior, junior or mixed teams or individuals.

All teams teams are of 4 riders where the best three scores to count towards the final score.

If you would like to be considered for a team or an individual place please fill in the attached team interest form and e mail Louise Downie chair@niddvalleyridingclub.org.uk with your name and contact details ahead of the closing date which is Wednesday 5th October.

Your payment for entry must be made to Nidd Valley before the closing date. Entry fee is £42 per person or £168 for a team of 4. Area 4 expect this to be a popular event, therefore we may be limited in our entries and entries may be balloted out by area 4.

THE COURSE

Consists of a course of show jumps immediately followed by cross-country fences, and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence, which will be set at a discretionary 10cm higher than the rest of the course. There will be a maximum of 20 jumping efforts, 9 show jumping, 10 XC fences and the joker SJ fence. The Joker fence is a compulsory fence and must be jumped, failure to jump before passing through the finish will be classed as an error of course and penalised as per

COMPETITION RULES

Show Jumping

The show jumping part of the Arena Eventing competition will be run under the Show Jumping rules set out in section SJ1in the BRC 2022 handbook.

Cross-Country

The cross-country part of the Arena Eventing competition will be run under the Horse Trials rules set out in section HT in the BRC handbook.

Please note; there is no dressage element to the competition.

Once members have applied to compete, a team will then be decided, if there are an odd number of entries or not enough entries to make up a team, riders can compete as an individual.

This is a qualifier for the HorseQuest Arena Eventing Championships @ Aston le Walls, Northamptonshire 10th to 13th March 2023 so please make sure you are able to make the championship dates if you qualify.
