Founded in 1967 by Ruth Cuthbertson and Romola Webster.  The club originally met in a field belonging to John Webster on what is now the site of St James' Retail Park at Knaresborough.

We are a British Riding clubs affiliated Riding Club, catering for Seniors and juniors over the age of 14.

Nidd Valley Riding Club is a friendly club, encouraging riders of all ability to improve both their riding and horsemanship. Having a go and having fun is of the upmost importance!

We run lessons, social events, horse welfare training and offer the opportunity to compete for your club and qualify for regional and national championships.

  • Eleanor Mercer Clinic 6th July

    Jumping clinic at Eleanor Mercer equestrian Camp Hill nr Masham. There will be a morning session with arena work and a timed circuit then a break for lunch. After that we will be out on the xc course! There is a vast range of xc jumps particularly suitable for young horses/nervous riders. Jumps start at 1'6".  Price approx £40 person depending on numbers! Any other requests welcome.     NVRC is hosting a members only clinic day at Jodhpurs, Tockwith; The day will feature Horse weighing and feed advice from Dodson & Horrell, saddle fitting, equine dentistry, horse massage, advice on NAFF products and much more, including an (optional extra) dressage clinic from Grand Prix dressage rider Cathy Burrell!

  • Festive Showjumping A Success!

    Thanks to everyone who attended, supported, helped out and organised the festive showjumping at YRC on 30th December - despite (or maybe because of) the awful weather there was a fantastic turnout, and a good time was had by all. Results are on the results page!


  • Congratulations to the Dressage Team!

    Congratulations to the Nidd Valley Dressage team who put in excellent individual performances at the Area 4 Winter Dressage at Richmond on Saturday, including two individual top 10 scores to bring the team home in a highly respectable 11th place (from 28 teams). Well done to all!
