he Area 4 Qualifier Summer Dressage is to be held on Saturday 16th July 2022 at Bishop Burton Equestrian Centre.
Area 4 expect this to be a popular event, therefore we may be limited in our entries and entries may be balloted out by area 4.
Categories are as follows:
Senior intro B (2009). This is for individuals only.
Preliminary team (4 riders each riding one test. Tests are preliminary 7 (2002), 13 (2006) 14 (2006) and 18 (2002).
Senior open team (4 riders each riding one test. Tests are Novice 24(2010), N 30(2006), N39(2010) and Elementary 43(2006).
Senior riding test . This test is run under dressage rules and is judged as a test of competence of the rider and the influence on the horse. The rider should sit in a correct position and should be able to understand and apply the aids correctly for each pace and movement. It is not judged as a dressage test. The tests are P12(2005) or N24(2010), team of 4 or individuals.
Individuals can ride also in the prelim and senior open categories.
If you would like to be considered for a team or an individual place please fill in the attached official team interest form (which can be downloaded from the web site by selecting ‘whats on’ then ‘qualifiers’ ahead of the deadline below.) with an e mail to Jayne Hawley email; vice@niddvalleyridingclub.org.uk stating your name and contact details ahead of the closing date.
Entries close for Nidd Valley on Tuesday 7th June 2022 by which your payment for entry must be made. Classes are £15 per individual class, £60 per team.
If you qualify for the championship BRC may ask you to bring a volunteer for help on the day.
Flu vaccinations for 12 months must be up to date (see page 22 in the handbook). BRC will continue to strongly recommend a 6 month vaccination when attending BRC qualifiers and championships and maintaining good biosecurity. BRC reserve the right to amend these vaccination rules.
Checking of hats and back protectors must be up to the current specifications shown in the 2022 BRC handbook. Riders please be advised that the trimming of your horses whiskers is now not permitted and will lead to disqualification (see p1 2022 handbook).
Please note : If you compete at Area 4 you will be asked to volunteer for another event, and if you qualify for the championship you will have to provide a volunteer helper .

This is a qualifier for the Championships @ Lincoln Show ground, on 4th and 5th September so please make sure you are able to make the championship dates if you qualify.
