The Nidd Valley Riding Club Cup
The oldest of the Nidd Valley Perpetual trophies, the NVRC Cup was first awarded in 1974. It is now awarded to the member consistently highest placed representing the Club at Area 4 level during the preceding calendar year.
The trophy is currently held jointly by Ruth Allen and Sarah Williams.
Awarded to the Nidd Valley member with the most points in the dressage series
2014 – (must be based on the horse rider combination to avoid those who bring several horses being advantaged and points in both the prelim and novice must be combined to accommodate for those moving up a level across the course of the series, finally they need to be a member at the date of the championship!)

The Ridings Construction Co Ltd Challenge Cup
Donated in 1988 by Grizel Sackville-Hamiltion for the Nidd Valley member scoring the highest in the internal element of the Jovik Dressage Competition, a competition intended for ‘those who might like to compete but cannot quick pluck up the courage or, perhaps, feel they are not good enough to dare to enter a Dressage competition.’

The Wannabe Gangster Trophy
Donated in 2011 by Shirley Bold as a memorial to her horse Wannabe Gangster, who won the Novice class in the Combined Training in 2010 in his first novice appearance. The following month the horse had a colic attack, she lost his and so wanted to remember him via the trophy.
The Trophy is awarded to the winner of the novice class at the Nidd Valley Riding Club Combined Training and is currently held by Jenny Brown.

The Roos Leap memorial trophy for ‘The spirit of the club’
The newest of the perpetual trophies donated by Kimberley McDougall in memory of Roos Leap, a homebred horse who started her career as a youngster in NVRC lessons and competitions, competing up to FEI** at eventing before retiring due to a serious injury, then at dressage to Elementary level, then showing, winning many local trophies and qualifying for RIHS as a ridden hunter and finally ending her career as a riding club horse once more; Rosie’s final competitive outing was in NVRC team colours in 2012 at the age of 17. The award is for the club member who, through all-round commitment most embodies the spirit of the club.
