Jan has been a resident instructor at Yorkshire Riding Centre since 1976. She teaches many different levels of horse and riders. She has competed British Dressage and British Show Jumping Association Affiliated Competitions.This season she is competing in British Eventing.Jan is a registered ride judge for C.H.A.P.S. U.K. (coloured horse and pony society) at county level. She has competed at the British Riding Clubs National Championships at Lincoln, Hartpury, Aston Le Walls, Malvern and Stoneleigh. She also works away from Y.R.C. as a freelance instructor teaching gymnastic jumping and confidence work for nervous riders.
Cathy is an International Dressage rider at both Young Rider and Senior level, and has competed at all levels including Grand Prix. Cathy is the northern Para Dressage representative for British Dressage and a member of the Pony Club Dressage Committee. Cathy has trained all levels from Pony Club up to Advanced dressage and ** eventing. Cathy is a registered instructor through the BHS and has achieved the UKCC Level 3 Coaching Certificate. Cathy is also on the Trainers’ Database for British Dressage and a recognised Paralympic coach.
Tracy has over twenty five years experience of coaching horses and riders of all ages and standards, and has produced young horses from scratch to Burghley CCI****. She is a Pony Club Chief Instructor and Riding Club trainer, and has achieved the UKCC Level 3 coaching certificate in addition to being a BHSII and BE accredited coach.
Kath Inman’s passion is the training and bringing on of young horses, she also enjoys working with novice riders and horses. Kath provides encouragement to both horse and rider at any level. She has worked her way through Pony Club gaining her A test. She then was stable jockey for Chris McGrann for a number of years where she completed her BHSAI exams. Her sister Jeanette (Brakewell) is quite good with horses too…!
Eleanor has ridden all her life and has come through the Pony Club system culminating in passing her A test in 1997. She is a regular competitor at BE events at all levels and loves bringing on young horses to achieve their full potential.
She enjoys teaching riders of all ages and abilities. Friendly and approachable, she aims to instill confidence in nervous pupils while inspiring the experienced competitor. Although she is often seen to specialize in safe cross country riding because of the excellent xc facilities at Camp Hill, she is happy to solve any problems you may have in all three disciplines.
Her philosophy is that if you want competitive success, training needs to be progressive and built on firm foundations, and that when teaching you always aim to find and correct the cause not the symptom.
I have been very lucky to compete up to PSG level, I was selected for the British junior & young rider teams from 16 to 21. I then have taken young horses through the grades up to advanced at regional & national level. I have been trained by some if the very best riders in the sport including Olympic riders Laura Fry, Joanna Jackson, Jenny Loriston-Clarke & some Olympic & list 1 judges, Stephen Clarke, Judy Harvey & Steph Cooper.
BHS and BD registered instructor. As a junior, show jumped herself at national level and has ridden up to PSG level dressage. Trained Pony club and Riding club dressage teams to championship level and also regularly trains pony club and riding club jumping teams. Has also trained pupils to represent Great Britain on the dressage team to compete at international level. Nicky is also the BYRDS (British Young Riders Dressage Squad) Northern region representative. I also run regular clinics from my yard with Olympic rider Joanna Jackson & list 1 judge Steph Cooper.
Nicola is a UKCC British Showjumping Level 3 coach. She has a passion for coaching and has regular clients from beginners to intermediate level and those progressing up the grades at affiliated level. She aims to give her pupils confidence, goals and inspiration.
Will is one of Y.R.C.’s Advanced Instructors.
He has trained both horses and riders to British Dressage Regional and National level and also produced horses at County showing level and for the British Dressage young horse classes.
He has schooled and worked with a variety of different horses including Thoroughbreds, Warm bloods, Friesians, Quarter Horses and Highlands and is happy to work with horses of all types and temperaments.
He has an extensive client list from Novice horse owners to more advanced.
Before coming to YRC, Will helped to train horses and riders to Para Olympic level.
