Many thanks to Di O’Toole, Connie and Jacque Watties who came and fence judged and to Jenny Bennett who was the commentator for the day.  Without their help the team and individuals would not be able to compete, so many thanks again as their help was very much appreciated.

In addition thanks to those who stayed and helped steward/write at the event, it was much appreciated and helps the event run smoothly.

Area Horse trials Bishop Burton 21st June 2009…

It all began at 4am!!! With the very early dressage times which the club had been allocated!!!

The going was really good as the rain the day before had taken some of the hardness out of the ground.

The Show Jumping appeared to be catching a lot of people out but we were all fine as the arena can be a bit spooky.

The XC was great going and all of us loved that part with us all going round clear

The team...
                Sara Bryant – College Diamond
                Christina Roskilly – Storm XIV
Natasha Stentiford – Point Break II
                Tamsin Stentiford – Beachwood

Individuals...
                Clare Parker – Velvet Star
                Helen Vos – Sharkey

The day proved very successful for us all with the team being placed 2nd out of 17 other riding clubs. We believe the team has qualified for the Championships at Off Church but we are just waiting for conformation.

Calderdale won with an overall score of 117.4 with us hot on their heels with 123.2, the 3rd placed team finished on a score of 123.8 so very little in it!

Each of the team members were also placed individually within there own sections with Christina being placed 3rd, with a final score 42.1 Sara finished on 41.8  in 4th place and Natasha 4th  finished on 39.3 in  Tamsin came 10th finishing on 55.31

Helen Vos was placed 6th with an over score of 44.4 and Clare Parker finished 10th on 56.6

Many thanks for the helpers which we always need to provide at these types of events so a big thank you for Peta Ackerley and her helper Samantha Swenson who fence judged, Toni who also fenced judged as well as keeping Clare calm!!! And Gill Sanders.

After the very early start we all had our allocated jobs in the afternoon but it was a glories sunny day and the 2nd place made it all the better.
