Area 4 Winter Dressage Novice Qualifier

The Northern Regional Dressage Novice Qualifiers for the 2023 Championship are being held at Northallerton EEC on Saturday 15th October 2022 .

Teams are made up of 4 riders, with each rider in the team to ride one of the tests below.  The best 3 scores in the team count towards the final team score. Members can also ride as individuals.  The  cost is £60/team to enter or £15 for an individual . Please note if  you have already competed in a qualifier this year there will be a small additional payment to BRC which will be advised and you will be asked to volunteer at another BRC event.

The events are run by volunteers and is Nidd Valley’s turn to help.  If you have competed at a qualifier this year and not yet volunteered please come and help, we need your support to run these events. Anyone else who can volunteer for the day or half a day to help with stewarding and other duties would be gratefully appreciated. We also need volunteers for the arena eventing on  November 5th and 6th. Please contact Jayne Hawley email vice@niddvalleyridingclub.org.uk  if you are available.

If you would like to be considered for a team or an individual place please fill in the attached team interest form and e mail to Jayne Hawley vice@niddvalleyridingclub.org.uk with you name and contact details. Entries close noon Wednesday 7th September 2022.

Eligibility  depends on how many British Dressage points you have and rider qualifications,  details of which can be found on page 90-91 of the British Riding Club members handbook 2022 which can be downloaded from the BRC web site.  Horse vaccinations must be up to date (page 115 in the BRC  handbook).

To compete in the qualifier you should be available for the Championship TBC March 2023

This competition will run under BRC Rules, anyone in attendance will be bound by the BRC Code of Conduct. It is important that all competitors are aware of the rules relating to this competition – please see the current BRC Handbook and also the BRC Rule Amendments and Changes Document which can be found at the link below: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-rulebook.

If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason and rescheduled within 21 days, the close of pre-entry will remain. If the qualifier is rescheduled for more than 21 days after the original date, entries will re-open. Late entry fees will not be refunded.  Pre-entries that cannot attend the new date may be issued a credit note but the Team Manager must inform the office in writing before the cut off date which the area will be informed of upon rescheduling.

Hats

All hats must have a visible aqua BRC/BE/PC hat tag in place before they are worn on the showground, to show that they meet the current safety standards.  There will be a trained official available on the day to do this for you if your hat does not currently have one. For up to date hat rules please see the current BRC Handbook.

Body Protectors

Although not mandatory, body protectors may be worn.

Flu Vaccinations & Microchips

Your horse must have up to date influenza vaccinations in line with rule G7 in the current BRC Handbook. There is also a checking device on the BRC website. If you are unsure, please call BRC on 02476 840518. As of 1 October 2020, it is compulsory for all horses to be microchipped. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the horse is chipped and it is traceable.
